We all know that passwords are the weakest link in our security ecosystems, and yet we still use them. Back in 2012, the Fast IDentity Online (FIDO) Alliance was founded with a mission to work on a passwordless authentication protocol. In 2019 the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) adopted the FIDO2 core Webauthn protocol as an official web standard. This has made passwordless authentication a reality that can be scaled across the Internet. Come to this session and John Craddock will provide you with a deep-dive understanding of FIDO2 and its associated protocols. You will discover how FIDO2 banishes the weaknesses of passwords and takes secure authentication into the future.
